Your report - step by step

Please note that this process can take time. Give those involved notice well ahead of time!

Choose the type of report

DCE – Danish Centre for Environment and Energy publishes two types of reports:

  • Scientific reports contain independent scientific results from research and studies relating to the Ministry of the Environment and Food and other requisitioners.
  • Technical reports e.g. contain model documentation, data and background material or are academic stats reports that are not extensive enough to be scientific reports.

Are you unsure as to the type of report? See previously published reports: (http://dce.au.dk/udgivelser/).

Procedure for reports

Create a template and write a draft of the report

Use the DCE-icon in Word. Begin by creating the template for the desired type of report in Danish or English. See more information about the DCE-icon and the templates –  here

All reports must have a Danish and an English summary.

  1. Write the report.
  2. When the report has been compiled (including figures and tables), the following must take place:
  3. The report must be proofread/linguistically quality assured by a secretary in the department*
    • If you need graphical assistance with the figures, notify Tinna (tch@ecos.au.dk) well in advance.
  4. The report must be academically quality assured by a DCE colleague.
    • Notify Michael Strangholt (mis@dce.au.dk) if media attention is expected.
  5. Send the report to the report mailbox: rapporter@dce.au.dk (incl. cover photo) for final setup. If required, include a comment sheet. Note that we only publish and receive reports that have been set up in the DCE template.
  6. The report will not be assigned number till it is published.

*In ECOS, the following secretaries can be contacted: Else Staalsen (Danish), Anne Mette Poulsen (Danish/English), Charlotte Kler (Danish/English), Charlotte Hviid (Danish). ENVS has a different setup.

The final report is sent to the requisitioner, and the report is published. If the report is to be mentioned on the website, a press release is to be issued or press preparation is necessary, this must be arranged with Michael Strangholt, DCE, prior to publication.

’Quality assurance of products’ is described in Procedure 7 of TECH’s quality management system and in ’Publication of products’ in Procedure 9.

For scientific notes, use this template:

O:\ST_DCE-Information\DCE_Notatskabelon

Scientific notes must go through the same quality assurance process as the reports, i.e. be checked scientifically and by DCE and should, in addition, be subject to linguistic quality assurance to the extent resources allow.

When your scientific note has been finally approved, send it to the requisitioner and to (rapporter@dce.au.dk), which will publicize the note on the web site (dce.au.dk/udgivelser/).
